Storyboard for the opening of our thriller.

1. Files and document thrown onto and spread out as our film title will appear across it. This will be shot in birds eye.

Close up of detectives name plate.
2. Our detective then sits at the desk as his nameplate (which we could not get at this time) is focused on and the detective reads through the files in the foreground but not in focus. This will be an over the shoulder shoot.

3. Our detective then sees something in the files and stands suddenly, knocking his chair over. Gathers the files and turns to leave.
4. The detective runs towards the door, files in hand and exits the room. We will use match on action of this shot with the next shot.

4/5. Close up of the detectives glasses.

5. Opening of the door and exiting into the hallway. (match on action).

6. Begins to run down the hallway, dropping files as they go. Long shot.

7. Gathering files as the detective continues his journey. High angle to make them appear vulnerable and to foreshadow his fate.

8. The detective then runs through the main office and heads towards the stairwell.
9. Enters into the stairwell, still rushing.
10. Runs down the stairs and into the parking lot.
11. Then the detective fumbles to tidy himself and walks through the parking lot. (will be an underground parking lot but the school one was the closest and due to rain we missed a few shots that will be included but were unable to photograph.)
12. Fumbles for the car keys and looks around panicked.

(Also will have a P.O.V shot from the killer watching the detective, the detective being stalked and the detective falling to the ground after.....
A gun is drawn and shot. (No guns were availible at that moment).

17. Long shot of a female assasins shadow

Close up of the high healed assasin.

Video Diary- 5 weeks until planning deadline

We are keeping a weekly video diary to show the update on our planning schedule and whether we are on target. This week we are on target and have met up to get alot of planning completed. We also discuss what we plan on completing next.

Film outline and Planning

Pitch:

As a group we decided to make a crime/ conspiracy thriller aimed at males aged 18-25 called 'Chasing Shadows'. The film follows the investigation into the serial killings of serial killers. Our opening will begin with a detective rushing from his office with his files to his car and to be shot to grab the audiences attention, before having a flashback to the begging of the storyline. Both of the characters faces will not be brought to light in the first part of the opening to keep his identity a mystery.  The enigma code as to why these serial killings will be unravelled following this scene as the detective is visitted by the ghost of his dead wife who warn's him to 'stop'. It will be later revealled in the film that the detective is carrying out the investigation into his own murders as he seeks revenge for his late wife's murder.

Script outline

This is our initial idea for how our film opening will be set out as well as the locations and the characters speech. However this script may be slightly altered later on when we create our storyboard and begin to film and edit our footage depending on what is most suitable.

Idea's

* We have since recruited Katy to act as the wife in our film and we have re-named our production company 'Bee-A-Nut Productions' as its snappier and more memorable for our audience to remember.

We tried to relate our logo to the name of our production and distribution company, and our characters descriptions are meant to act as professional gender stereotypes. The names of our production and distribution company we also tried to relate to the genre we were creating and the circumstances we are in (Education- Academy).

Evidence

We all met up to discuss our production and distribution company name's and logo's as well as the characters descriptions in the film, followed by writing the script. After having done this we asked friends who matched/ almost matched the ideal descriptions of our characters to act in our film.
